Akosia is a small charity that facilitates creative projects for homeless and vulnerable children. Our aim is to engage underprivileged children in a safe and stimulating environment where they are able to express themselves, learn tangible skills beneficial for their future endeavours, and take part in a creative filmmaking journey! We also feed the children twice a day throughout the duration of the programme, and fund a scholarship for a child who excels during the project. Last summer the Akosia Team went to Accra, Ghana to run a creative film making project for the students of a local school called Street Academy. Our project enabled the children to embark on a journey of self expression and engage in a positive and safe environment.
There are several videos below that will give you a taste of the 2009 project – including the two films the kids made!
